All of our treatment is based on a thorough biomechanical evaluation for every single patient we see. We assess not only the symptomatic spot, but look at the entire region. This allows us to not only treat the symptoms, but to find the root cause of the symptoms Generally, the evaluation includes a detailed discussion of your pertinent medical and/or injury history, a full body systems review, and a discussion of what YOUR personal goals are in physical therapy. We perform selected tests and measures to identify potential and existing movement-related disorders. This includes: looking at muscle strength and endurance, joint range of motion, postural/alignment issues, identifying muscle imbalances. Additionally, a detailed palpatory examination of the involved muscles and joints in the region is performed. Many of our patients who have been with other clinicians comment that “no one has ever examined me that closely before!” Performing such a thorough evaluation ensures that all your needs are being addressed from day one, and makes for faster results by our patients in therapy. Our physical therapists synthesize the collected examination data and utilize their clinical judgement to come up with a treatment plan to help you achieve your goals.
